Doing our best to raise wild children. It’s not always easy. Like many other people we juggle work, school, sports. We don’t live in a camper or call campgrounds home. Sometimes, especially on social media, it can seem like you have to be one or the other — sell it all and RV the world, or be a super consumer constrained by suburban or urban life. 🍁I can practically smell the pumpkin spice in the air🍁 Don’t sleep on Upper Peninsula Michigan — it’s a beauty! 🤩 My love of travel was ignited while serving in the U.S. Navy for 7 years and living overseas. #sponsored Those friendships and experiences profoundly shaped me personally and professionally. Sometimes people are surprised to learn I’m a veteran. #sponsored. I didn’t serve during a time of conflict, and when people ask me the hardest part about being in the Navy, I think they expect me to talk about Boot Camp. But that was easier in some ways than leaving the service. Survival skills 🔥 The s’mores just somehow taste better when you’ve started the fire using flint and steel 🪨🔪 CHICAGO— We finally experienced Bike the Drive, an annual fundraiser for @activetrans every Labor Day weekend and the only time Chicago’s beautiful and iconic LakeShore Drive is closed to cars and open for 🚴‍♀️. MACKINAC ISLAND— We finally made it this unique island off the coast of Michigan while road-tripping and camping in Upper Peninsula. We took the ferry over for the day from St Ignace. Below are some tips— and things we WISH we knew before going (SAVE for reference): Who needs water parks when you have this?
